On May 8th, our Year 6 classes visited the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) in Lisbon, where they took part in the game-based experience “Unpacking Ideas.”
The children were divided into two groups, each following a different guided visit through the exhibition. As a result, they explored a range of artworks and were introduced to several artists from the early 20th century.
The sessions combined guided discussions with some interactive elements, encouraging students to observe, reflect, and share their ideas about the artworks. Many pupils discovered artists they had not encountered before, and several expressed an interest in returning with their families.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience that broadened the students’ exposure to art and offered them a new cultural perspective. We look forward to returning to the CCB on May 29th with Year 3 for another game-based experience.
