Incredible Success for IPS Cascais Pupils in the 2026 Kangaroo Maths Competition!
We are thrilled to announce another year of incredible success for our pupils in the Kangaroo Maths Competition 2026. This prestigious global challenge brings together more than six million young mathematicians across 86 countries, fostering a shared love for numbers, logic, and creative problem-solving. Here in Portugal, the competition continues to be coordinated by the Department of Mathematics at the University of Coimbra, in partnership with the Portuguese Mathematical Society.
Looking Beyond Rigid Testing
Rather than focusing on rigid numerical testing, the Kangaroo Maths Challenge inspires pupils to look at mathematics through a lens of curiosity and fun, tackling unique puzzles that demand sharp reasoning and outside-the-box thinking. It is an inclusive event that invites everyone to participate, explore, and stretch their critical thinking skills.
With a total of 71,152 participants competing nationwide this year, standing out is a fantastic achievement. IPS Cascais is incredibly proud to shine a spotlight on our exceptional pupils who demonstrated outstanding skill and achieved top rankings in Portugal.
National Standouts and Historic Results
