Globeducate Global Olympics 2026 brings together students from international schools across Europe
More than 180 students from 24 Globeducate schools in six countries gathered at Boundary Oak School in Hampshire, England, for three days of celebration of sport, teamwork and global citizenship at the end of May 2026.
The annual event, one of Globeducate's flagship international student experiences, brought together young people from across the group's network of international and bilingual schools for two days of sporting competition, outdoor learning and cultural exchange. Designed to promote wellbeing, teamwork and leadership, the Global Olympics also provides students with valuable opportunities to develop the skills and perspectives needed to become confident global citizens.
Throughout the event, students competed in a wide range of activities, including track and field events, football, lacrosse, archery, pickleball, orienteering, uni hockey and table tennis. Alongside healthy competition, participants were encouraged to challenge themselves, learn new skills and work collaboratively with peers from different countries and cultures.
Fostering Intercultural Understanding and Global Perspectives
A key part of the Globeducate educational approach is creating opportunities for students to connect beyond their own school communities. By bringing together students from across Europe, the Global Olympics helps foster intercultural understanding, resilience, communication skills and a sense of belonging to a wider international community.
For many participants, the friendships formed during the event were among its most memorable highlights.

One student from ICS London said: “My favourite thing I did was winning the long jump!”
A student Sports Leader from Boundary Oak School reflected on the experience of helping to organise the event, saying: “I'm one of the Sports Leaders at Boundary Oak and have helped with the event. My favourite part has been watching so many people enjoy learning a new sport or skill. Everyone has given it their all.”
Students also spoke about the international spirit of the event. A participant from Cambridge House British International School, Valencia, Spain, shared: “My favourite sport was the uni-hockey, but my favourite part was meeting people from all around the world, and being all together as one group.”
Similarly, a student from Stonar School said: “My favourite part about the Global Olympics has been meeting lots of new people and enjoying the diversity of cultures that are here.”
A student from ISN Nice said: “The Globeducate Olympics was a really fun experience. I got to meet new people and try different sports. My favourite sport was lacrosse because I had never played it before, and it was fun learning something new. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and I'm really glad I had the chance to be part of it.”
As the event concluded, students returned home with medals, memories and friendships that extended beyond national borders. The Globeducate Global Olympics 2026 once again demonstrated the power of sport to unite young people, celebrate diversity and support the development of globally minded learners who are ready to make a positive contribution to an interconnected world.
