IPS Cascais participates in the Annual Globeducate Arts Competition

IPS Cascais participates in the Annual Globeducate Arts Competition

Being a part of the Globeducate network provides pupils at IPS Cascais with a unique window into the world, connecting them with peers across 60 schools in 12 different countries. These global events are more than just competitions; they are vital opportunities for our pupils to develop international-mindedness, share diverse perspectives, and feel part of a community that extends far beyond our school gates. Whether through sports, academics, or the arts, these shared experiences challenge our pupils to grow as global citizens.

One of the highlights of our calendar is the annual Globeducate Arts Competition. This event invites pupils to interpret a shared theme, this year it was “Art: A Universal Voice”. While IPS pupils may not have secured a place on the podium, we are incredibly proud to announce that our Year 2 class received an Honorary Mention for their wonderful collaborative artwork.

Our art teacher, Ms. Annick Gruslin, reflected on the impact of the event and the pride it instilled in the classroom. She noted: "This art competition offers a meaningful opportunity for children to feel proud of their creative work. Displaying their artwork and explaining their ideas to their peers and parents gives real purpose to the process, while encouraging collaboration, reflection, and engagement with an important shared theme. My Year 2 class received an Honorary Mention this year, which was a great source of pride for them. It is inspiring to see the creativity and diverse approaches from schools in different countries responding to the same theme, with many strong ideas and artworks standing out. We are already excited to take part again and are very curious to discover next year’s theme. Thank you for this opportunity."

The success of this event lies not just in the awards, but in the inspiration we draw from seeing how other pupils around the world approach the same creative challenges. We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to all the winners from across the Globeducate network whose work stood out this year.

As we look ahead, we encourage our entire school community to remain engaged and get involved in the many Globeducate events still to come this academic year. From Wear it Wild to the Globeducate Global Olympics, these moments allow our pupils to shine on a global stage, and we cannot wait to see what they achieve next.
