A warm welcome from our Head of School
“Welcome to IPS Cascais. I am immensely proud to be the Head of School. It is a special place where we ensure that the well-being and education of our students are firmly at the heart of everything we do. It is a happy school where the enthusiasm is infectious as we strive daily to ensure high standards in an inclusive and stimulating environment.
IPS Cascais is a warm school. We are a community, with everyone working together to ensure that all students have a great education filled with passion, enjoyment, and commitment. We have great ambitions and high expectations for our students. Our staff work hand-in-hand with our parents to achieve their goals and make their days at our school memorable, stimulating, and deep.
These are exciting times for our school as we enhance our current provision and facilities and broaden our horizons. IPS Cascais is going from strength to strength, building on the consistent ethos and values established over many years. At our current site, we have approximately 350 students. At the start of this academic year, we welcomed our first cohort of Secondary School students. We are proud to extend our rich and stimulating experience into Key Stage 3 through a skills-based curriculum, building on the excellent foundations established by our Primary teachers. From September 2023, our secondary students will move to our new Secondary site approximately 1.5km from our beautiful Primary School, enabling us to further enhance the experience and provide a whole school experience consistent with our aims and ethos.
On this website, you will find much information about life and education at our school. Nothing, however, replaces the feeling that you get when you walk through our doors. There is something special in the fabric of our school that we welcome you to experience. Please book a visit to come and see us and experience IPS Cascais for yourself.”
Neil Morris,
Head of School
About IPS Cascais
IPS Cascais British International School is located north of Cascais, close to Lisbon. Founded in 1982, our school has grown from 5 to 350 pupils representing 40+ nationalities.
We are known as a friendly, well-established British school offering the English National Curriculum. Exciting developments in 2022 saw the plans for the Secondary School come to fruition and an initial intake of Year 7 children at our current premises. Years 8-13 will launch on a rolling basis from 2023 on a new purpose-built site. We will continue to offer the English National Curriculum culminating in IGCSEs in Year 11 and then the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in Years 12 and 13.
