About our School
IPS Cascais British International School is located in Bicesse. North of Cascais and only 25KM from the centre of Lisbon.
Our friendly, well-established school started with 5 pupils and has grown over the last 40 years into a united international community of 440 children from over 40 nationalities. We offer the National Curriculum of England from Foundation Stage to Year 9.
As pupils move into Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 they will be working towards achieving their iGCSEs, which they will undertake in Year 11, and A level exams will be taken in Year 13.
New Secondary School Underway
After over 40 years of excellence in Primary education, IPS Cascais is proud to announce the development of our Secondary School.
With Years 7 to 10 already available, our Secondary School will soon move to a beautiful new campus with excellent, specialist facilities close to the current site. Our Secondary School will deliver an educational programme from Year 7 up to Year 13, ensuring pupils get the qualifications and experiences for them to take to universities across the world.
From Nursery to iGCSEs... A-Levels coming soon
Early Years & Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Our Early Years & Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is tailored to our youngest learners (aged 3 and 4). Caring teachers instil a love of learning and prepare pupils for the years ahead.
Nursery is available for children as young as 3 years old, followed by Reception.

Primary (Years 1 to 6)
Children are taught by excellent teachers following the National Curriculum for England. Lessons are structured yet playful and engaging, making school a memorable place to be. In Primary, we encourage pupils to be resilient, and not be afraid to make mistakes. IPS is a nurturing environment and our Primary curriculum is adapted to our international context.

Secondary (Years 7 to 11)
In Year 7, 8, and 9, pupils follow the National Curriculum for England and prepare themselves for studying their iGCSEs.
Year 10 marks the start of the iGCSE programme with pupils sitting their exams in Year 11.
IPS is proud to announce the first cohort of Year 10 pupils began their iGCSE journey in September 2025.
6th Form (Years 12 & 13) - Coming Soon...
Year 12 and Year 13 will soon be available with IPS Cascais offering the widely renowned A Level programme.
