Who We Are

IPS Cascais British International School is located north of Cascais, close to Lisbon. Our friendly, well-established school started with five pupils and has grown over the last 40 years into a united international community of 450 children from over 40 nationalities. We offer the National Curriculum of England from Foundation Stage to Secondary. As pupils move into Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 they will be working towards achieving their iGCSEs, which they will undertake in Year 11, and A levels in Year 13.

New Secondary School Underway

After over 40 years of excellence in Primary education, IPS Cascais is proud to announce the development of our Secondary School.
Our Secondary School will soon move to a beautiful new campus with excellent, specialist facilities close to the current site. Our Secondary School will deliver an educational programme from Years 7 up to Year 13, ensuring pupils get the qualifications and experiences for them to take to universities across the world.

Educational stages at IPS Cascais

Foundation Stage

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is tailored to our youngest learners (aged 3 and 4). Caring teachers instil a love of learning and prepare pupils for the years ahead.

Primary School

Children enjoy playful, engaging lessons within our programme, which is based on the National Curriculum of England and adapted to an international context.

Secondary School

In the Secondary School, we follow the National Curriculum of England and students study for the IGCSEs in Years 10 and 11.

Sofia joined IPS Cascais at the start of this academic year. Having worked in paediatrics for over a decade, she places the health and welfare of children at the heart of everything she does.
