Languages

Experienced and qualified specialist teachers create programs which are suited to small groups or individuals, depending on the needs of the child.

English as an Additional Language (E.A.L.)

Our extremely successful E.A.L. programs are taught to all children (Reception to Year 6) who join IPS with little or no knowledge of the English language.

Portuguese (Years 1 - 6)

Beginners conversational and more advanced studies for pupils who have Portuguese as a mother tongue. (Portuguese parents should note that further Portuguese may be required for children who transfer into the Portuguese system at a later date).

French

Conversational French classes are given to pupils in Year 5 and 6 for one hour per week.

Dutch

A comprehensive Dutch program (recognised by N.O.B.) is offered to all Dutch speaking children (Nursery to Year 6). A Dutch teacher works with small groups during normal school hours. This involves children being withdrawn from class lessons at some point convenient to both class teachers and Dutch teacher. The school can prepare children for the C.I.T.O. tests.
